As an attorney for over twentyfive years, Deborah’s work has focused on fighting for fairness, equality, and opportunity for all North Carolinians. She is the former executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina, and a member of the North Carolina General Assembly for 10 years. Deborah is running against Senator Richard Burr, a secondterm incumbent whose extreme record has earned him a spot on Roll Call’s list of “10 Most Vulnerable Senators.” Burr has voted against equal pay for women and against raising the minimum wage. He has worked to advance a dangerous Republican agenda at the expense of the North Carolina families he was elected to serve, and in 2016 it’s time to hold him accountable. North Carolina is a key battleground state in 2016, and with control of the U.S. Senate hanging in the balance, the stakes couldn’t be higher for women and families.
